We do our best to match your ordered square footage as closely as possible, but due to the nature of custom-milled flooring, there may be a slight variance in the final quantity delivered. This is common across the flooring industry, especially when working with reclaimed or specialty wood products.
In most cases, your order will include a small amount of overage, typically no more than 1% above the ordered quantity. This overage helps ensure your installer has sufficient material to complete the project and is especially useful in case of last-minute layout changes or minor on-site adjustments. The final amount shipped—and any overage—will be clearly reflected on your final invoice.
The order can actually be a few feet short of the ordered quantity, but that is rare. While this is uncommon, it’s something to keep in mind when calculating your required square footage and waste factor.
We recommend accounting for 8–10% waste in your project plans, and factoring in that our shipped quantity may be slightly more (or very rarely slightly less) than the exact square footage ordered. If you have specific constraints or need a precise quantity, let your salesperson know and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate your needs.
