Proper care and maintenance will help preserve the beauty and longevity of your wood floors for years to come. However, the best cleaning methods and products to use will depend on the type of finish applied to your flooring.
For site-finished flooring (finished after installation), we recommend deferring to your installer or finishing professional. They will be familiar with the specific products and techniques used on your floor and can provide the most accurate guidance for cleaning and maintenance.
For pre-finished flooring, we can provide detailed care instructions based on the finish you select—whether it’s a UV-cured urethane, low-sheen matte finish, or a satin oil-like look. In general, pre-finished floors should be kept free of dust and debris with regular sweeping or vacuuming (using a soft floor attachment), and cleaned occasionally with a finish-compatible hardwood floor cleaner.
We also recommend:
- Using protective pads under furniture
- Avoiding wet mops or harsh cleaners
- Placing rugs or mats at entrances to reduce dirt and grit
