Yes, in many cases our flooring can be installed over radiant heat systems; however, there are several important considerations to ensure a successful installation. Because we do not offer installation services, we defer to the guidelines provided by the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) as well as the expertise of your installer.
According to the NWFA: “Most wood flooring can be installed over radiant heat, provided all of the necessary conditions are met.” These conditions include proper subfloor preparation, moisture control, temperature regulation, and careful acclimation of the wood prior to installation. It’s also important to maintain consistent indoor humidity levels throughout the year to minimize expansion and contraction.
We recommend discussing your radiant heat setup with your installer and reviewing the NWFA Installation Guidelines, which provide detailed instructions and best practices. If your installer has any questions about our products or their suitability for radiant heat, we’re happy to provide technical specs or additional information.
