What’s Included in Your Sample Box: We hand-select pieces to give you a true feel for the quality of our milling and the texture of the wood.
2–3 Solid Wood Pieces: You will receive multiple planks (approx. 12″–18″ long) to demonstrate the grain variation and some of the naturally occurring character.
Plank Widths: We typically send 3″–5″ wide pieces for sampling purposes to fit standard shipping boxes. (Note: Your actual flooring order can be customized to wider widths depending on your project needs.)
Precision Milling: All samples feature our standard Tongue & Groove profile so you can test the fit.
Important: These Samples are UNFINISHED Just like our standard flooring orders, these samples arrive as raw wood. They will appear lighter and “flatter” than the finished photos you see on our website.
💡 Pro Tip: How to See the True Color To visualize what this wood will look like installed: Wipe a section of the sample with a damp cloth or mineral spirits. This instantly reveals the rich tones and grain depth that will appear once a clear coat or oil finish is applied.
A Note on Character: Wood is a product of nature. Use these samples to judge the texture, milling quality, and density. Please refer to the photos on this page and the product specification sheets (include with your sample box) to understand the full “Grade” (the range of knots, checking, saw marks, nail holes, and patina) that may appear across a full floor.
